As the COVID quarantine restrictions remain in place, many people are running out of things to do, but all is not lost. There are plenty of things to keep you entertained, active, and to ensure that you have a positive mindset...you just have to realize them! Hopefully, this blog will help you in doing so!
What can I do to make the most out of this frustrating time?
1- Train your brain
No matter what you know, there is always something new to learn. It doesn’t have to be a new skill. It could be simply broadening your knowledge on a certain topic. It could also be exploring new things like gratitude, good health, and positive habits. You never know what you might like until you try it out!
2- Try out a new skill
Learning to play a new instrument is a fantastic skill which can be learned at any age and from anywhere. There are many online sites that can teach you to play an instrument from the comfort of your own home. It may not be seen as a conventional way to learn, but it is possible, and it can be done.
3- Keep yourself active
This applies to both the mind and body. Just because you can’t go to the gym, that doesn't mean that you can’t do a home workout. Equally, just because you are restricted to your four walls, that doesn’t mean that you can’t work on you and your mind, by taking some time out for yourself, whether that be sitting in silence or listening to a guided meditation.
4- Love and explore food
Many people think of cooking as a chore because they don’t have the time to do it every day. Well now you have the time, so what’s your reason for not doing it? Use this time to explore new cuisines, different foods, and exciting recipes. It really can be fun for everyone involved!
5- Virtual meetups
If you are not able to see your family in person, you can still use several different online platforms to see your loved ones and enjoy their company. Set up a quiz night, have a virtual girly night in, or simply spend an hour talking face to face through your phone or computer.
6- Est-ce que tu parles français?
No? Well maybe now is a good time to learn! Whether you would like to speak French, Italian, German, or even Japanese….now you have the time to set aside to learn it! There’s no time like the present, so try to make the most of it and use it to your advantage.
Times are challenging at the minute, but you have two choices. You either dwell on it, or you make the most of it.
